PURPOSE:To obtain the titled emulsion and material having a high sensitivity and a high gamma and a less tendency for generating a fog by using a silver halide particle which contains >=35mol% a silver chloride on the whole weight basis of the silver halide particle and gathers locally at least 25mol% the silver chloride contd. in the silver halide particle to the titled emulsion and material. The more said gradient is large, the more preferable result is obtd. And. it is preferably to be such the gradient that the ratio of the chloride ion to the halide ion changes to >=25mol% discontinuously. |
