PURPOSE:To allow an operator to confirm a transmission rate in use by providing a means which displays the transmission rate in use to a facsimile equipment which performs picture communication at plural transmission rates. CONSTITUTION:When a picture is transmitted, an operation part 7 is operated to read the picture by a reading part 8, and the read signal is encoded by a control CT part 5 and modulated by a modem 3, and then the modulated picture signal is sent out to a telephone circuit 2 through a network controller 1. When a picture is received, a signal from an opposite equipment is sent from the controller 1 to the modem 3 and demodulated, and then decoded by the CT part 5, which controls a recording part 6 on the basis of the decoded signal to perform picture recording. In this case, a display part 9 consisting of a light emitting element such as an LED is connected to the CT part 5 to display a couple of transmission rates in use among 9,600, 7,200, 4,800 and 2,400bps in four-digit binary representation. |
