Drive mechanism for a video recorder with a head drum (2) which is helically surrounded by a magnetic tape (20). The guiding of the tape (20) in the area of the head drum (2) is carried out as a three point loading, one edge of the tape (20) laying substantially punctually approximately in the middle of the winding circumference of a fixed guiding portion (11), whereas the other edge of the tape bears at the inlet and the outlet of the head drum (2) on the flanges of the guiding pins (9 and 10). For a reverse vertical displacement of the guiding pins (9 and 10), a three point guiding is effected with respect to the fixed medium support, thereby obtaining the desired angle of the helical motion. A fixed position of the tape (20) for rotation head drums is obtained by means of a guiding portion (20) biting in an annular groove (24). The magnetic heads (26) project through air-tight openings (30) provided in the drum (2). |
