PURPOSE:To prevent superposition recording in long-period intermittent video recording by setting a blanking period wherein run video recording is not performed at both ends of a tape run period. CONSTITUTION:A video signal V from a video camera is inputted to a recording system signal processing circuit 4 for signal processing and its output is supplied to a recording amplifier circuit 2. A tape distance detector 5 detects tape run distance in periods (a) and (b) in the tape run period (e), and a recording blanking circuit 3 receives its output to stop the output operation of the recording amplifier 2 in order to knows a blanking period. Therefore, the signal passed through the recording system signal processing circuit 4 is not sent to a recording head 1, so video recording is not performed in this period. Consequently, superposition recording is prevented in long-period intermittent video recording. |
