PURPOSE:To improve the power factor of an input power source by detecting the polarities of the voltage and the current of a converter which generates the maximum output voltage to discriminate the inverting and reacting operations and applying the maximum output voltage command value in response to the discriminated result. CONSTITUTION:When a U-phase output voltage command value is positive, the output voltage of a converter 411 is operated at the maximum output. Here, the output voltage is reacted or inverted in response to the polarity of the U-phase load current or current instruction value to produce the maximum output voltage. The output voltage command value to the remaining converter 412 is obtained by subtracting the one voltage command value given by the different maximum voltage value in response to the reacting or inverting operation from the total output voltage command value of a cycloconverter. |
