PURPOSE:To obtain a picture without fixed pattern noise by stopping the operation of a counter deciding the horizontal position of a picture element during scanning while a horizontal line without defect of picture element is scanned so as to prevent noise generated from the counter. CONSTITUTION:The counter 4 counts a horizontal synchronizing signal and a defective line display signal is outputted from a memory 5. A signal inputted from a terminal 3 is gated at a gate 10 by a defective line display signal, and inputted to a terminal CP of the counter 9. The counter 9 generating a binary signal representing the horizontal position of a picture element is stopped for the time when the horizontal line without defect is scanned. Since no noise is generated from the counter, the fixed pattern noise of a longitudinal stripe due to noise is not generated and the deterioration in picture quality is prevented. |
