PURPOSE:To increase the color developing speed by forming the electrochromic layer as a color developing layer on the anode side in an ionic plating device using nickel carbonate as an evaporating material and gaseous O2 as a gas to be introduced. CONSTITUTION:The 1st electrode 2 made of an electrically conductive transparent film, an electrochromic layer 3 as a color developing layer on the anode side, an insulating layer 4 made of a dielectric film, and the 2nd electrode 5 made of an electrically conductive film are successively laminated on a transparent substrate 1 to obtain an electrochromic element. When the electrochromic layer 3 is formed, a reactive ionic plating device is used, nickel carbonate is put in the device as an evaporating material, and the device is filled with gaseous O2, so a film of the desired electrochromic substance is formed. |
