Cheque processing device comprising means 50 for identifying the cheque, printing means for labelling 20, 62 and endorsing 40 the cheque and means 54 for moving the said cheque under the various reading and printing means. It comprises, in particular, means 10, 13 for obliging the user to introduce the cheque correctly, means 7, 8 for checking that the latter is pressing properly on a reference face 13, and means 60 for maintaining this pressing during the various translation movements imparted to the cheque. The device can be used in assemblies for managing payments by cheque. <IMAGE>
