PURPOSE:To reduce the projecting amount based on the set of a support abrasive grain layer to reduce a cutting resistance and improve a cutting capability by a method wherein the length in the depth of the support abrasive grain layer is formed so as to be shorter than the length in depth of a base abrasive grain layer, which layers are formed on both surfaces of a base metal. CONSTITUTION:In the cutting edge, the base abrasive grain layer 3 is provided in the groove 2 of the base metal 1 and the support abrasive grain layer 4a is provided on the opposite surface of the groove 2. In this case, the length in the depth of the support abrasive grain layr 4a is formed shorter compared with the same of the base abrasive grain layer 3 on the base metal 1. According to this method, the projecting amount of the support abrasive grain layer 4a based on the set thereof can be reduced when a tension is imposed on the cutting edge, therefore, the cutting resistance may be reduced and the cutting capability may be improved. |
