PURPOSE:To minimize evaporation of a molten steel while maintaining the uniform temp. of the molten steel and preventing local overheating to an ultra-high temp. by subjecting the molten steel in a heating chamber under heating by plasma arc heating to gas stirring. CONSTITUTION:A bottom gas blowing device 17 is so arranged that it can blow inert gas into a heating chamber 12. While the molten steel existing in the chamber 12 is heated by a plasma torch 15, the inert gas is blown from the device 17 toward the inside of the chamber 12. The effect of maintaining the uniform temp. of the molten steel, eliminating the local overheating to an ultra- high temp., and improving the efficiency of heating is thus obtd. |
