Insulting door leaf esp. for exterior doors two parallely spaced outer skins the space between which is filled with a multi-layer panel (4) of insulating material. The two outer layers of the panel are made out of cellular cardboard or some other similar material and are adhered to the inner surfaces of the outer skins. The outer layers sandwich at least one layer of a material possessing excellent thermal insulation properties pref. polystyrene foam. The thickness of the layer is pref. less than half the sum of the thicknesses of the two outer layers.
