PURPOSE:To efficiently purify water containing organic substance for enhancing the coefficient of utilizing water, by subjecting the water containing organic substance to each of ozonization, treatment with powdery activated carbon, treatment with a flocculant, etc., and then absorbing it to the biophase of a catalytic biooxidizing part. CONSTITUTION:Into water to be treated being sent to a water supply pipe 2, 1- 10ppm ozone and 1-100ppm powdery activated carbon are injected at proper positions leading to a valve 2'. Said water to be treated after being mixed with these additives is supplied through the water supply pipe 2 to a treating tank 1. Said water to be treated comes in contact with a catalytic biooxidizing part 3 to decompose organic substance. Hence, solid matter is separated by filtration in the beds 4, 5 of filtering elements. At this time, air sprayed through an air injection pipe 9 blows up the solid matter accumulated on the bed 4 of filtering elements, while air sprayed through another air injection pipe 10 flows up through the filtration beds. Thus, oxidation is accelerated by the injection of air, and the plugging of the beds of filtering elements is inhibited. |
