<p>Powders containing serrapeptase (I) stabilised by incorporation of any of the following; lactose, sucrose, gelatin, aspartic acid and its salt, glutamic acid and its salt, into which a solution or suspension of (I) and lyophilising the resultant solution or suspension, are new. (I) is pref. obtd. by cultivation of Serratia sp E15 (ATCC 21074) according to the method of US 3691014. The resultant solution is aqueous, optionally containing acetone or a lower alcohol and contains 50-200 mg (I) per ml., at pH 6.5-7.5. The stabiliser is then added in aqueous solution of suspension, optionally with acetone or an alcohol usually 0.5-1.5 parts of stabiliser being added per part of (I). (I) is a known anti-inflammatory.</p> |
