The invention relates to a method for storing and using the inertia of an oscillating member in a shuttleless weaving loom, in which the oscillating member is carried in an operational fashion by a fixed portion of the shuttleless loom and is driven by a driving mechanism so as to oscillate. The technical problem posed consists in using the inertia of oscillating members in order to facilitate and maintain their oscillatory placement. According to the invention, an elastic device 15, 15' is mounted on the said stationary portion 2 so as to resist elastically the oscillatory movements of the said oscillating member 11 at the end of the oscillatory movement, so as to absorb and store the kinematic energy of the said oscillating member, and to release the energy stored so as to facilitate the oscillatory movement of the said oscillating member 11 at the beginning of the oscillatory movement. The invention is mainly used for maintaining the movement of oscillating members in shuttleless looms. <IMAGE>
