PURPOSE:To obtain a color picture with good quality without frame residual image by arranging sequentially filter elements of three kinds of spectral characteristics on a horizontal line by two different combinations, in a solid-state color image pickup device reading two horizontal lines at the same time. CONSTITUTION:Stored electric charges of photo diodes 401 arranged two-dimensionally are read out by driving a gate 403, read out by being serial/parallel- converted at a vertical transfer CD404, a horizontal transfer CD405 reads a signal from the CCD404 and extracts it from an output 407. A green G filter 902, a red R filter 903 and a cyan CY filter 904 are arranged sequentially in the solid- state image pickup element so as not to be overlapped on each horizontal line, and the 1st and the 2nd horizontal lines are read at the same time. The three kinds of the filters are arranged to the 3rd and the 4th horizontal lines, but the G filters are arranged so as to be continuous in vertical direction, and a color signal close to the standards of the NTSC system without frame residual is obtained. |
