Miniature greenhouse consisting of a lower part 1 and a transparent upper part or cover 2. In the lower part there is loosely inserted an intermediate bottom 3 which has perforations 12 in the bottom. The intermediate bottom is filled with dirt in which seeds are sown and it rests against an edge 11 in the lower part 1 a distance above its bottom. In the space beneath the intermediate bottom there is a water bath kept warm by an electric heating element 8. The supply of heat is controlled by an adjustable thermostat 9. Water vapour which is formed at the surface of the water bath penetrates upward through the perforations 12 and through the dirt, where it heats and moistens the plant roots. Excess water which gets up into the top part 2 is condensed onto the walls and runs down along the walls and through the gap 7 back to the water bath. <IMAGE>
