PURPOSE:To facilitate the fitting of a driving tool with an element on a tightening unit attached to the tip of a robot arm and shorten the cycle time of the unit, by pinch-holding the element with chucking claws. CONSTITUTION:When a tightening unit 1 is brought over a working position, a first vertically movable plate 20 is slightly pushed up by a spring because a second cylinder 22 is not operated, so that first chucking claws 12 are slightly opened to receive a bolt 13. The second cylinder 22 is then operated to pinch- hold the bolt 13. At that time, a box bit 9 is moved down to a position near second chucking claws 25. A second vertically movable plate 33 is then moved up by a third cylinder 34 to open the second chucking claws 25 to move down the box bit 9 into contact with the bolt 13. The box bit 9 is then turned and fitted on the bolt 13. The first chucking claws 12 are then opened so that the bolt 13 is screwed into an element in a prescribed position. According to this constitution, a cycle time is shortened. |
