<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate adjustment of a voltage impressed on a heating resistor, by a method wherein a plurality of circuit elements, each of which consisting of a switch and a resistor connected in series (the resistors have different resistances), are connected parallel to a heating resistor. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of circuit elements cach consisting of one of switches SW1-SWN and one of resistors R1-RN, which have different resistances, connected in series are connected parallel to a heating resistor (thermal head) 1, and a means for selectively operating the switches SW is provided. When the thermal head 1 has been replaced for some reason, and a driving pulse P is impressed on a driving transistor T to drive the head 1, a voltage V determined by the resistance thereof is generated by a circuit 2 and is compared with reference voltages V1-VN by a circuit 3, an output signal is generated in accordance with the result of the comparison and is input to a memory circuit 4, in which an output signal determined in accordance with the input signal is generated, and the output signal is supplied to the corresponding switch to control the ON-OFF action thereof.</p> |
