PURPOSE:To obtain an encoder characterized by excellent accuracy, easy assembly, and accurate detection, by providing light emitting elements in the circumferential direction in parallel on an encoder plate, and emitting light from the light emitting element, which is revolved and comes to the position corresponding to a slit. CONSTITUTION:Light emitting elements 1 are arranged in the circumferential direction of an encoder plate 2 at an equal interval. The encoder plate 2 is formed by a copper plate and the like. A conductive ring 9 and all the light emitting elements 1 are connected. Current collecting pieces 10 corresponding to the light emitting elements 1 are arranged on a current collecting plate 8 and connected to the light emitting elements 1 and wirings 13. A current flowing from a brush 11 to the current collecting pieces 10 makes the light emitting elements 1 to emit the light and flows to a brush 12 through the encoder plate 2 and the conductive ring 9. When the light emitting element 1 comes to a position corresponding to a slit 6 of a slit plate 3, the light emitting element 1 emits the light. The brushes 11 and 12 are arranged so that above described timing is provided. The light emitted from the light emitting element 1 is received by a light receiving element 4, and the number of rotation, the rotary angle, and the speed are detected. |
