OPTICAL FIBER CONDENSER

摘要

PURPOSE:To eliminate heating of a holding member owing to the wide angle exit light from the top end of an optical fiber by providing a reflecting mirror so that the light directed to the inside surface of the holding member is reflected to a condenser lens side. CONSTITUTION:A parabolic mirror 6 is installed in a holding part 3 and an optical fiber 1 is fixed in such a way that the top end of the fiber 1 is located in the focal position of the parabolic surface. Since the mirror 6 is installed in such a way, the IR light released from the fiber 1 in an exit angle range 4 is condensed by a condenser lens 2. The wide angle exit light in the part of a broken line 5 released to the outside of the range 4 is reflected by the mirror 6 and is fully made into parallel light which are released through the lens 2 to the outside of the condenser part. The wide angle exit light is released to the outside of the condenser part by just one reflection and therefore a holding member 3 is hardly heated by the wide angle exit light.
