PURPOSE:To facilitate an original read of a bound body such as a book by slanting a platen around a specific shaft as a fulcrum so that one end of the platen projects from a main body surface. CONSTITUTION:When the bound body such as a book and a file is copied, the platen 1 is rotated by a proper angle around the rotating shaft 10 as the fulcrum to project one end of the platen 1 from the main body surface 2. A scan rail 3 is coupled rigidly with the platen 1 and mirrors 5 and 6 are rotatable around shafts to guide irradiation light from a light source 4 to a photosensitive drum 8 without any read error by adjusting their angles of incidence and reflection automatically. Then, the bound body 30 is placed on the platen 1 so that an open part contacts the platen 1 to eliminate defects of a read of the open part, and the need to press the opened bound body is eliminated to prevent damage to it. |
