The invention relates to image-generating circuits for training simulators. In an image generator operating on the basis of a magnetic tape read by a video recorder MA, the horizon is simulated by a horizon generator GH which receives signals indicating the rotation A of the craft to be simulated, its inclination F and its angle of sight EH, as well as signals SLD-STD for synchronising the image which is to contain the horizon. The height of each point of the horizon is held in a memory MT read in synchronism with the scanning of the image. A slant signal GD-AD1 and the angle of sight signal EH are appended after digital/analogue conversion CN/A. The comparison CP1 of the signal thus obtained with a frame sawtooth enables a gate P to be opened which delivers a voltage corresponding to the brightness of the sky or of the ground which are separated by the horizon. The invention makes it possible to construct a simulator for small calibre gun firing on simulated targets. <IMAGE>
