The radiograph enlarger has a cylindrical vacuum tube, a photoelectrical layer (7) a phosphor layer (8), a scintillator (5), an optical coupling device, for example a fibre plate (6), first and second focussing coils (11, 12), a generator (16) for producing an electrical field, a deflection unit (14, 15) having two pairs of magnetic deflection coils (14), and a focussing-current generator (13). The radiograph enlarger (4) produces a visible image by means of electrons which are transmitted from the scintillator (5) to the phosphor layer (8), it being possible to vary the enlargement by means of a corresponding setting of the focussing-coil current. <IMAGE>
