发明名称 LUBRICANT FOR MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance of a thin metallic film magnetic recording medium by incorporating an ester synthesized from 12-22 C fatty acid and 2-18 C monohydric alcohol. CONSTITUTION:Higher fatty acid such as lauric acid is enumerated for 12-22 C fatty acid. Sliphatic alcohol such as ethanol is enumerated for 2-18 C monohydric alcohol. This lubricant is usable in combination with other lubricants. Liquid paraffin and others are enumerated for the lubricant that can be used in combination. The mixing ratio in the case of using both lubricants in combination is about 100/0-100/50 (by weight) this lubricant/other lubricant. The lubricant is coated preferably at 3-20g/m<2>. The required amt. of the lubricant to be coated on a magnetic medium by a vapor deposition or plating method is relatively small and the amt. on the recording medium by a sputtering method is relatively large.
