PURPOSE:To allow exhaust of gas, leaking through a shut-off damper, to the outside of a duct, by a method wherein an opeable air inlet and a leak gas outlet are provided in the underside and the upper side of a connecting duct running between a shut-off damper and a boiler of a furnace. CONSTITUTION:An air inlet 34' is opened by a damper 34, and a leak gas outlet 35' is opened by a damper 35. A leak flow 9 passing through a damper 8, being shut-off, produces a flow 38, directly sucked, and a flow 39, mixed with the introduced air, accompanied by a flow 37 of the external air through the air inlet 34' and through the working of a suction duct 36, and is exhausted, as shown at 48, to the outside through the outlet 35', which, resultantly, is opened. A leak flow 9 through the damper 8 is prevented from exercising the influence on a boiler or a furnace 6. This allows exhaust of gas, leaking through the damper being shut-off, to the outside before the gas reaches a boiler or a furnace or a fan which is brought to a stop condition. |
