PURPOSE:To adjust mechanically and automatically moisture with good accuracy by feeding out continuously at a constant rate the recovered sand which is temporarily stored in a hopper, measuring the temp. and the moisture content thereof and spraying successively a required amt. of water to the sand fed out in accordance with the result of said measurement. CONSTITUTION:An unfixed amt. of recovered sand S is charged from a conveyor 1 into a hopper 2, and the level of sand S is detected with sensors 5-7. A conveyor 3 is driven by a control device 11 to feed out continuously the sand S at a constant rate from a gate mechanism 4. The temp. and moisture content of the fed-out sand S are respectively continuously measured with sensors 15, 16, and the results thereof are fed to a control device 19 which calculates the required amt. of the water to be sprayed to the sand S. On the other hand, the presence of the sand S is detected by a sensor 13, and a stop valve 29 is opened. Stop valves 26-28 are adequately opened in accordance with the result of the above- mentioned calculation for the amt. of the water to be sprayed to spray water from nozzles 20-22 to the sand S. The accuracy in the moisture adjustment is thus considerably improved and the control device is made simple. |
