Feed arrangement for sawmill machinery for controlling the speed of feeding a piece of lumber to a sawing element, comprising a driven conveyor 2 for feeding of pieces of lumber to a sawing element 7 present at the conveyor 2. Furthermore, the arrangement contains a control element 14, arranged to control the speed of feeding of the conveyor 2 as a function of the workload of the sawing element 7. Thus far, the feeding speed of a conveyor has been controlled by the power supplied to the drive motor of the sawing element. Such a control produces an unfavourable load on the sawing element. According to the present invention, a first pulse transmitter 11 is connected to the sawing element 7 and arranged to detect its speed, and a second pulse transmitter 12 is connected to the conveyor 2 and arranged to detect the speed of the conveyor 2. The pulse transmitters 11, 12 are connected, as actual-value transmitters, to said control element 14, which is arranged to control the feeding speed of the conveyor 2 so that a predetermined relation, constituting the nominal value, is maintained between the speed of the sawing element 7 and the feeding speed. <IMAGE> |
