PURPOSE:To raise operability and to shorten a storage processing time by constituting so that the storage processing of a picture information can be executed without executing a key input operation of a retrieval code by a picture information storing and retrieving device. CONSTITUTION:In a computer 29 which is an external device, an inputted title data is stored in a floppy disk (FD) 34. In this state, when the device is set to a registration mode, a CPU12 of a main control device 11 receives the title data of one item portion from the FD34, stores it in a main memory 13, and in case when a structure of its title data is correct, the CPU12 stores it in a title memory 18. An operator sets an original corresponding to its title data to a two- dimensional scanning device 20. The device 20 scans a set picture information, and a photoelectrically converted information is stored successively in a page buffer 14. This information is band-compressed and is stored in an optical disk 19. The CPU12 makes a storage address of a track number, a start sector, picture size, etc. correspond to a retrieval code, stores it in the title memory 18, and supplies its retrieval data to an FD27. The FD27 stores it in an FD28. |
