PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium with superior flexibility and wear resistance by using a compound contg. at least one or more activated hydrogen groups capable of reacting with an isocyanate group in the molecule. CONSTITUTION:In the manufacture of a magnetic recording medium, a magnetic coating material contg. a binder is applied to a nonmagnetic support, dried, and heat treated under irradiation with electron beams or irradiated and heat treated to cause curing by cross-linking. The binder contains 20-99.5wt% of one or more kinds of components selected from monomers, oligomers and polymers each contg. at least one or more acrylic unsatd. double bonds and contg. optionally an active hydrogen group capable of reacting with an isocyanate group in the molecule and 0-80wt% of one or more kinds of components selected from compounds, oligomers and polymers each contg. at least one or more active hydrogen groups capable of reacting with an isocyanate group in the molecule. |
