PRODUCTION OF ALUMINUM FINNED IRON PIPE

PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance by winding a belt-like fin material which is clad with a brazing material on one surface of a thin aluminum sheet to a pipe and heating the same in a furnace after coating a flux thereon thereby joining the fin to the pipe and forming an aluminum coating layer on the surface of the pipe. CONSTITUTION:A belt-like fin material 1 is formed of a brazing sheet clad with a brazing material on at least one surface of a thin aluminum sheet. An aluminum-silicon material is used as the brazing material. The material 1 has a curved part of an L-shaped cross section and is wound on an iron pipe 2 with the curved part faced to the inside. A mixture composed of a flux for an aluminum alloy and zinc chloride, tin chloride and water is used for the flux and the brazing in furnace is accomplished in accordance with a conventional method.
