PURPOSE:To detect whether an article is present or not and its loading amount through one projection and photodetection part by arranging a rotary reflecting mirror and intermediate reflecting mirrors between the projection and photodetection part and a reflecting plate. CONSTITUTION:Every time a control part 22 outputs one control pulse (t), a light emitting element 19 of the projection and photodetection part 12 turns on instantaneously. This pulse light is projected toward the reflecting plate 10 through a rotary reflecting mirror 14 and one of intermediate reflecting mirrors 17. When an article 5 is not on its optical axis and the light is not cut off, the pulse light is reflected by the reflecting plate 10 to return to the projection and photodetection part 12 through the same optical axis, the same intermediate reflecting mirror 17, and the rotary reflecting mirror 14. Namely, whether the article is present or not is detected by the photodetecting element 20 of the projection and photodetection part 12. Its detection output is sent to a synchronous detecting circuit 23 through an amplifier 21 to perform synchronous detection by using the same control pulse (t), and its output is inputted to the control part 22 through a discrimination circuit 24. The control pulse (t) is also outputted to a motor driving circuit 16 at the same time and the motor driving circuit 16 rotates a driving motor 15 by a specific extent every time article detecting operation regarding one optical axis is completed. |
