<p>A portable, hand held data recorder (20) for pressure-transfer printing embossed information onto a form set (74) from a credit card or the like includes a push-pull platen assembly (50) contained in a closed housing (24) but manually operable from the exterior of the device. A releasable retainer (34) also within the housing (24) is provided for holding the form set (74) in place during imprinting and again is manually operable from the exterior of the device. The recorder (20) also includes resilient means (64) for accommodating credit cards of different thicknesses. </p> |
