A circuit arrangement for monitoring electronic computing chips is proposed which output periodic signals at one of their outputs when operating correctly. To monitor the permitted minimum signal spacing of these periodic signals and the permitted maximum signal spacing of these periodic signals, a capacitor (14) having a continuously variable state of charge is provided which can be traced into a fixed state of charge in each case by the periodic signals (U10). The voltage surge at the capacitor (14) is then in each case transmitted to a second capacitor (23), the state of charge of which is again continuously variable. When a fixed voltage value (Us) is reached at the second capacitor (23), a reset signal (U28) is triggered. In this manner, signal spacings outside a predetermined time window are detected by means of a simple and inexpensive circuit and when these are detected, corresponding reset signals are generated for the computing chip (10). If the disturbance remains, new reset signals are continuously generated. <IMAGE>
