PURPOSE:To enable the skinning of onions, at a high speed, surely, by peeling the thin skin from an onion by the jet stream ejected from the spirally arranged air nozzles in the course of the delivery and transfer of the onion by the synchronized revolution of a screw having plural spiral blades. CONSTITUTION:The onion (a) is charged one by one from the introducing chute 9 into the transfer space R defined by three spiral blades 1 and three guiding members 2, and is delivered downward. Air jet (f) is blasted through three air nozzles 3 directing slantly upward toward the descending onion. The onion is lifted by the jet, pushed toward the lower face of the spiral blade 1b, and skinned. The skinned onion (a) is lowered by the spiral blades 1, and dropped through the outlet 10. A sure and high-speed skinning can be achieved by this process. |
