PURPOSE:To deliver a tool quickly and smoothly by a method wherein a tool delivery position to and from an ATC is provided at an arbitrary position except the position of a chain driving wheel or other wheels in the tool magazine of a machining center. CONSTITUTION:The machining center is provided with a main shaft 1, for mounting the tool, a main shaft head 3, elevatable along a column 2, a table 4, for putting a work piece, or the like. The tool magazine 6, constituting an automatic tool supplying device in the machining center, is mounted on the frame 9 of a magazine table 8 while the ATC 7 is attached movably along a rail 10 attached to the side face of the frame 9. The tool magazine 6 is provided with the chain 11, bearing a maltitude of tool pots, the wheel 12, driving the chain, the wheel 16 for positioning and an index pulser, controlling a motor 13 under cooperating with the wheel 16. At the position X of the positioning wheel 16, the tool delivery to and from the ATC 7 is effected. |
