PURPOSE:To fix an optical fiber to a ferrule without tools for exclusive use by forming a flexible piece, which is divided by slits and has a thread, on a fiber insertion hole of the ferrule and engaging a clamp screw with this thread to constrict the insertion hole uniformly. CONSTITUTION:A flexible piece 2b which has an inclined thread 9 and is divided to plural pieces by slits 8 is formed on a fiber insertion hole 2a of a ferrule 2, and an optical fiber 3 is inserted to the insertion hole 2a, and a clamp screw 10 is engaged with the thread 9 to fix the fiber 3. An optical element 14 attached to a cylinder part 15 of a receptacle 12 and a fiber core 3a are brought into contact with each other. A projection 20 of the receptacle 12 is fitted to an angular hole on a movable piece 5 of a cap 7 having a slit 4 to connect a connector; and if the fiber 3 is slipped off, the clamp screw 10 is loosened to insert the core 3a again, and thus, the fiber 3 is used again easily. |
