PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer sheet enabling thermal transfer recording with two colors or more on paper to be transferred such as plain paper, obtained by successively laminating a first special ink layer and a second special ink layer different in hue onto a sheet like support. CONSTITUTION:An objective thermal transfer sheet is constituted by a sheet like support 1 such as a polyester film, a first ink layer 2 containing a color material and a meltable or softenable heat meltable medium and formed on the aforementioned support 1 and a second ink layer 3 containing a thermally foamable agent foamed at a temp. higher than the m.p. or the softening temp. of the aforementioned heat meltable medium, a color material having a color phase different from that of the color material of the first ink layer and the same heat meltable medium as the aforementioned medium and laminated on the first ink layer 2. In this case, as the aforementioned heat meltable medium, one capable of being melted and softened at a temp. of 50 deg.C or more is pref. |
