Device for the optical coupling of fibre-optic components, a first connector part having an alignment position with respect to one of the fibre-optic components. A second connector part, which is arranged in a manner capable of fitting the first connector part, has a floating insert which contains a further fibre-optic component. Guide means on the insert and on the first connector part guide the insert during the first phase of the fitting operation into the alignment position. During a second phase of the fitting operation, the insert is brought into the alignment position by means of interacting alignment means, in order to bring the fibre-optic components into alignment. Flexible holding means press the insert in a flexible way into the alignment position and hold it therein.
