The device preferably consists of two parts; the drawing on page 1 - Figs. 1 and 2 shows an exemplary embodiment. Part (1) is the socket provided with electrical contacts, part (5) is the plug, fitted with the mating contacts. Part (1) is connected to the mains and is mounted in the wall or the ceiling under or on top of plaster, part (5) being connected to the lamp or other electrical apparatus. The lamps or electrical apparatuses are electrically connected by inserting part (1) into part (5). The joined parts (1) and (5) are preferably fitted with self-locking cams (10), to prevent falling out. <IMAGE>
