<p>An internal combustion engine is provided with an auxiliary intake passage (11, 11 min ) which opens into an intake passage (3, 3 min ) immediately downstream of a valve stem (7a, 7a min ) of an intake valve (7, 7 min ) with respect to the flow direction of the intake air flowing towards a combustion chamber (2, 2 min ). As a result, the disturbances of the intake air flow immediately downstream of the valve stem are eleminated by the intake air flow coming from said auxiliary intake passage.</p> |
