PURPOSE:To prevent winkles of a paper during the fixing with a stable outer diameter maintained for a long time by preswelling a fixing roll coated with a heat resistant elastic material in an offset preventing liquid under an external force being applied so as to check most of swelling thereof during the fixing operation. CONSTITUTION:In an oil bath 14, an offset preventing liquid 12 is heated up to a specific temperature with a heating plate 13 while a plurality of fixing rolls 15 are grasped with slide plates 16. Pressure rolls roll to the right or to the left under a pressure applied with the slide plates 16. The pressure thus applied to the pressure roll appropriately ranges 10-200kg per roll. The use of a fixing roll preswelled in this way can check variation in the outer diameter to prevent possible wrinkle of a paper in the fixing with a fixing apparatus employing heating under pressure. |
