PURPOSE:To attain both high resolution and high speed in the control of positioning by switching from low resolution to high resolution in accordance with the degree approaching an objective value and executing feedback control. CONSTITUTION:When a position command signal 3 is inputted, an operation processing circuit 30 switches a position signal switch 39 so that a low resolution signal 34 is inputted to a deviation outputting device 41 and sets up the gain of a variable position loop gain setter 44 to a value corresponding to the low resolution signal. Consequently, the table 2 is driven and controlled at the low resolution. After completing positioning by the low resolution signal 34, the position signal switch 39 is turned so that a high resolution position feedback signal 38 is inputted to a differential output device 41 and sets up the gain of the setter 44 so as to correspond to the high resolution signal. Consequently, the system is driven and controlled at the high resolution.
