A cable reeling device for a suspension system of the type in which a supporting member is suspended from cables and power winches to raise and lower the supporting member on the cables, the free ends of the cable being fed to the reeling device wherein the cable reeling device includes a motor (17) for driving a shaft (11) upon which are mounted two drum hubs (14 and 15) for receiving the main and secondary cables (28 and 29) of the system, each drum hub (14, 15) being coupled to the shaft (11) by means of a slipping clutch (24, 20, 16, 21, 25 and 25, 22, 16, 23) so that only limited tension may be applied to each cable (28, 29). |
