PURPOSE:To stabilize the quality of a weld zone without deteriorating pressure welding characteristics by holding an insert material consisting of material of high specific resistance formed to ring-form between joined materials and joining by resistance heat generation. CONSTITUTION:An insert material 7 is formed to ring-form using a material higher in specific resistance than materials 10 to be joined conforming to sectional form of the materials 10. This insert material 7 is held between the materials 10, and current is supplied to the material 10 from a power source transformer 12 through an electrode support 11. By this way, contact resistance and resistance heat generation are caused in the materials 10 and insert material 7. Then, pressure is applied in the direction of butting to cause plastic flow of impurities such as oxide films on the initial joint faces and smoothen the flow of flow metal. Accordingly, contact of clean active faces is started and the quality of the weld zone is made stable. |
