<p>PURPOSE:To provide an electronic typewriter capable of enhancing printing speed, wherein shift locking is achieved when a shift lock key is successively depressed two or more times, and the shift lock is automatically cleared by subsequently depressing a space key. CONSTITUTION:By successively depressing the shift lock key 1b twice, a setting signal is inputted from a flip-flop 7 into a printing-controlling mechanism 3 through an OR gate 6 as a shifting signal, resulting in a shift lock mode. Then, when the space key 1d is depressed, a signal is inputted into a resetting terminal of the flip-flop 7 through a signal wire S6, whereby the setting signal from the flip-flop 7 is eliminated, so that the shifting signal from the OR gate 6 is also eliminated, and the shift lock condition is cleared.</p> |
