PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of testing accuracy, by a method wherein a cross beam is arranged above the chuck attached to a crosshead so as to leave the interval therebetween and supported in parallel relation to a support frame in a movable manner. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of a test piece are grasped by a pair of chucks 1, 2 arranged so as to leave the interval therebetween in a traverse direction. In addition, one chuck is connected to an actuator 4 while the other chuck is attached to a crosshead 5 which is, in turn, supported by a pair of frames 7, 8 in a movable manner in a traverse direction. Therefore, each fixing pin 15 is inserted into the pin hole of an intermediate wall 11 after the crosshead 5 is moved to a predetermined position and, by this operation, the crosshead 5 can be fixed to th frames 7, 8 while vibrations of both of them are prevented and, as the result, the lowering of testing accuracy is prevented. |
