摘要 PURPOSE:To equalize the temperature distribution in a rotor and to prevent the rotor balance from breaking by rapidly removing externally gas vapor coolant collected at the top in the rotor in case of stopping the rotor through an exhaust tube and filling the rotor with liquid coolant. CONSTITUTION:An axial exhaust tube 112 is arranged between the minimum diameter part of a storage chamber 102 and the exterior of the rotor, a switching unit 113 is provided in the tube 112, to be openable from exterior. A heater 114 is provided in a vapor coolant exhaust passage 108, connected via lead wiring 115 to a heating current collecting ring 116, which heats the passage 108 by energizing the heater 114. When the rotor is stopped, vapor coolant collected at the top is rapidly exhausted through the tube 112, and the liquid coolant is filled in the rotor. Further, before the liquid collant passed into the passage 108 to reah the coolant supply and exhaust unit, the coolant is heated to evaporate the coolant.
