<p>PURPOSE:To enable to smoothly operate by employing both an electric brake by the counterelectromotive force of a motor and a mechanical brake and selecting the running state, thereby eliminating the impact at the speed shifting time. CONSTITUTION:The speed of a DC motor 1 for driving a motor driven vehicle is detected by a tachometer generator 22, the motor is rotated at the desired speed by a constant speed controlled having a drive circuit and a brake circuit, a motor 64 is controlled corresponding to the output of a tachometer generator 27 for detecting the rotating speed of wheels by a speed shifting command, thereby shifting automatically the reduction gear ratio of a reduction gear. A mechanical brake controlled by a motor 223 is provided, and controlled for tightening by a signal from a brake position detector 205. Accordingly, the optimum reduction ratio can be selected corresponding to the running state to enable to use the capacity of the motor 1 to its limit, and softly accelerate or decelerate the motor, thereby providing good riding feeling.</p> |
