PURPOSE:To reduce the generation of trouble caused by the difference in physical properties of a pair of metal wires, by adjusting the cross-sectional areas of the metal wires constituting a thermocouple. CONSTITUTION:When a first metal wire 1 and a second wire 2 are relatively different in the heat conductivities, the cross-sectional area of one low in heat conductivity, for example, the metal wire 2 is made small as compared to the other one. The cross-sectional area of the wire 2 may be changed partially or entirely but changed so as to include the vicinity of the connecting part with the wire 2. When the wire 1 and the wire 2 are different in the corrosion speeds thereof, the cross-sectional area of one fast in the corrosion speed, for example, the wire 1 is made large. The part to be enlarged in the cross-sectional area of the wire 1 may be partial or entire but should contain at least a corrosion receiving part. |
