A flowmeter for Karman vortex streets is indicated which has two lines (26, 28) through which a fluid to be measured flows, a vortex-generating part (30) which is located at the junction where the parts of the fluid flowing through the particular lines (26, 28) and to be measured are combined with one another, a multiplicity of vortex stabilisers (32) which are located at preset equal distances downstream of the vortex-generating part (30), and a measuring device (18, 18') for measuring a frequency, with which the vortices of a Karman vortex street (16) are generated downstream of the vortex-generating part (30), in order to measure the flow velocity, the flow rate or the throughput of the fluid to be measured (Figure 2). <IMAGE>
